Particles heavier than the liquid are rejected in the whirlpool due to the centrifugal force to the outer walls of the separation chamber, and fall to the deposit chamber. Suspension-free liquid is returned against the current through the low-pressure zone to the outlet. The suspension separated in the deposit chamber is removed through the sludge connection.
